Still deciding what I want to be when I grow up.

In spite of aging past the half century mark, I still have no “career” per se. I have worked fast food, management in fast food, newspaper advertising, housecleaning, secretary, loan processing assistant, real estate agent, e-commerce website manager, contractor, rental manager and probably a few more that I just can’t remember. But, by far, my favorite job has always been wife, mother, and grandmother. I LOVE gardening, sewing, cooking from scratch, cleaning the house, mowing the lawn, etc. my honey works long hours, so the house maintenance is mine. Of course there are things he helps me with, but, whatever I am able to do, I do.

This year, I get to play contractor again. We have owned a piece of land for the last four years and we are finally going to start building! We are really excited! The driveway was cut in and graveled while the ground was still frozen, so as not to damage the road during spring thaw. The first time we drove out on it, we pulled up to find an owl perched atop one of the piles of dirt left behind. What a magnificent creature to encounter! It left us in awe of our God’s amazing creation!

Since the weather turned within days of completion, we will be at a stand still for a month or so while the ground dries out. In the meantime, our blueprints for the shop are being drawn up, and final decisions are being made as to whom will do what, when, and for how much.

We found our pearl of great price, and have sold our two rentals to have money to build. The shop will go in this year so we can celebrate the Feasts of the LORD unencumbered by having too many people crammed into our modest home, and the house will go in next year, Yah willing. Here’s a picture of the look we are aiming for for the shop, without the fireplace, or rear building.
